SOVEREIGN BY DESIGN: The Case for the Miracle that is Israel

When I sat down to write this 6th Edition of The Miracle that is Israel, I thought I was just doing an update. God, it seems, had a different plan, as 'update' quickly became 'rewrite', and 'rewrite' somehow, morphed just as quickly into a full-blown forensic investigation.

It brought to mind - Proverbs 25:2 - "It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them" - and it came off the back of a similar (but different) experience I had writing The 7-Year Tribulation. It’s meant that the last year or so has been such an adventure that at times, I’ve been sat at my desk wishing my chair had a seat belt, so fast has the revelation flowed!

I hope, therefore, that you’ll not only enjoy reading this book and get lots from it, but that you’ll also get a sense of my excitement along the way. Honestly, God’s plan blows me away. His attention to detail is incredible: every ‘i’ dotted, every ‘t’ crossed, nothing forgotten, nothing left to chance. God doesn’t do random; everything with Him is intentional. He lines up the ducks with perfect precision, and then, according to His perfect timeline, He makes everything happen in perfect sequence.

As we’ll see, Israel is of huge significance to His plan. I find it mind-boggling that some can’t and won’t see it, and I pray that this book will somehow make a difference, and that because of it, some eyes will see, and some hearts will soften to the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8).

You don’t need me to tell you that our world is changing rapidly. Yesterday was local election day, and for the first time in my near seven decades, we’ve seen anti-Semitism become a vote-winner. The not so green, Green Party, which is seemingly a magnet for every jihadist, Islamist, and progressive fanatic in Britain, is experiencing unprecedented growth, with 44% of women aged 18-24 staunchly behind them. The insanity of social media may be the breeding ground, but make no mistakes; this leftist-sectarian alliance is bound together by anti-Semitism. It is the glue.

The lies, the hate, the ignorance, the propaganda, have always been there, and Israel, surrounded by 'enemies' bent on wiping the Jewish State off the face of the map, has been in constant crisis – at one level or another – for nearly 80 years. But this time, it’s different, because October 7th 2023 made it mainstream, courtesy of social media algorithms. The invasion, the hate, the killing, were pure evil, and it was also a declaration of war: a war that Israel didn’t want, didn't ask for, and didn't start, yet has no choice – if it wants to survive – but to fight.

To understand the post-7/10 chaos and aftermath, you have to look beyond the politics, the opinions, the headlines, and the prejudice… because we are living in an era where Bible prophecy is being played out in real-time, before our very eyes.

The world's hostility perfectly echoes the ancient, chilling cry of Psalm 83:4: “Come... let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.” 3000 years ago that was written!

Yes, Israel’s remarkable story is inextricably entwined with God’s plan and timeline. ‘Can a nation be born in a day?’ was a question posed by the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, 700 years before the first coming of Christ - Isaiah 66:8. On May 14th, 1948, it happened. It came to pass, and Israel was once more. Frankly, it is impossible to understand the story of Israel and the Jewish people outside of the Biblical perspective and spiritual dimension, because – and everything is built upon this truth – Israel is special to God, by covenant.

I am not exaggerating, and this book, I hope, will prove it… beyond a reasonable doubt.

The burden of proof is an onerous one that requires a deep-dive forensic investigation that leaves no stone unturned. We’ll ask and answer two key questions: Does God have His hand on Israel, and does He have an active, ongoing interest in the welfare of Israel and the Jewish people?

If you’ve read any of my books, you’ll know my style. I don’t set out to create an academic treatise or scholarly theological tome, for I am neither academic, nor scholar, nor theologian. My goal is to present the facts - Biblical and otherwise - as clearly as I can, calling on my legal training to search the evidence and present it in a straightforward manner so that you, the reader, can reach your own conclusions and come to a verdict.

Despite the hatred, lies, and hostility, it is God Almighty, the Sovereign Architect Himself, who remains in absolute control. He is the One who declares the end from the beginning - Isaiah 46:10. And as His prophetic timeline unfolds, I pray The Miracle that is Israel will mightily bless you, inform you, and help prepare you for what comes next in God's end-times plan.
